Brunei Darussalam is currently in the Northeast Monsoon season, which typically persists until March 2026. Active weather conditions are expected, starting from the 20th of December until Thursday, 25th of December.
Showers, occasionally heavy and thundery are expected to affect several areas of the country especially in the afternoon and at night, and potentially persist until early morning the next day. Wind gust of up to 45 kilometres per hour can be expected during or near heavy and thundery showers. Over Brunei waters, sea conditions are generally at slight to moderate state, with wave heights ranging between 0.4 and 1.2 metre. The public are advised to take precautions with respect to the forecast active weather condition. There is a high risk of flash floods especially in low-lying and flood prone areas, as well as near river banks during periods of continuous heavy rain and also during high tide. Risk of landslide, fallen trees and blown off roofs are also possible during heavy showers and gusty condition. The moderate sea condition is hazardous to all small boats, recreational and marine sports activities.
